Meet Rahul

Name: Rahul
Office: Gurgaon, India
Title: Manager, Content and Public Affairs

1. Why did you choose to come to Burson-Marsteller?
Coming from a journalism background, the firm had the right fit for me – with a mix of writing, strategy and business development. Equally important was the firm’s legacy. It has built a great reputation over the years and is seen as one of the leading integrated communications agencies in the country and the world. Flexibility and opportunity to work in other markets was another factor which made me want to join Burson.

2. What do you do at Burson-Marsteller?
I work in the content and public affairs practice here in India. My work involves business development, client servicing, research, writing, design, end-to-end project management and execution, developing strategy for internal and external communications, contributing to public affairs and public relations campaigns and last but not the least, conducting training on media and media relations, for both internal and external audiences.

3. What do you like about working at Burson-Marsteller?
Ethical influencing – people talk about it, but here it is part of the DNA. You see it around yourself every single day. And for someone who values ethics, integrity and sincerity in doing business, this place is a delight. In addition, the firm places a considerable emphasis on training and development of employees, as well as giving them flexibility to work in different practices. In the process, helping them discover what they love and how they can excel.

4. How has Burson-Marsteller helped you build your career?
I was fortunate to be a part of the first year-long leadership development programme, LEAP, which was started by Genesis Burson-Marsteller. The discoveries about self and the learnings about work, leadership and management will hold me in a good stead for a long time in my career. I have honed my skills as a trainer, contributed to crucial pitches for the firm and increased my involvement in public affairs campaigns, which I absolutely enjoy.
